Not surprisingly, our guests from Joigny were thrilled to be in New York City. Every minute is a tough choice about whether to delve into learning the city’s history, or just absorb the energy and aura that is unmistakably New York.
After starting our first day at the Museum of Natural History, we enjoyed a gorgeous hour-long walk through a flower-filled Central Park. Everything was at its peak beauty in the spring sunshine – the Shakespeare Garden, Belvedere Castle, baseball fields, wooded Ramble, boating on the lake, the elm-lined Mall, and skyline photo by the skating rink. The students were surprised to see such enormous protected green space in a large city, and such variety of experiences that Frederick Law Olmstead’s landscaping has created.
We continued on to the always-favorite shopping in Times Square,an all-American dinner at Dallas BBQ, and a night-time view atop the Top of the Rock 3-level observation deck at the Rockefeller Center before returning to the ROW hotel on Eighth Avenue.
